Since the pneumatic 3-way ball valve usually uses rubber, nylon, and PTFE as the seat seal ring material, its service temperature is limited by the seat seal ring material. The shut-off effect of the ball valve is accomplished by the metal ball pressing against each other between the plastic valve seats under the action of the medium (float valve). Under the action of appropriate contact pressure, the seat seal ring is elastoplastic deformed in local areas. This deformation compensates for the manufacturing accuracy and surface roughness of the ball to maintain the sealing performance of the ball valve.
And because the seat seal ring of the pneumatic three-way ball valve is usually made of plastic, the fire resistance and fire resistance of the ball valve should be considered in the selection of the structure and performance of the ball valve, such as in the petroleum, chemical, metallurgical and other departments, the use of ball valves in the equipment and pipeline system of flammable and explosive media, and more attention should be paid to fire resistance and fire prevention.
In general, it is recommended to use ball valves in pipeline systems with two-position adjustment, strict sealing performance, mud, wear, necking channel, fast opening and closing action (1/4 turn opening and closing), high pressure cut-off (large pressure difference), low noise, cavitation and gasification, a small amount of leakage to the atmosphere, small operating torque and low fluid resistance.
